Course Description: 3-mile and 6-mile courses through scenic Kirkwood and Webster Groves. Course distance marked by Eckelman/Sebben Race Consultants and chip timed by BRE Timing, a subsidiary of Big River Running. Starting area and finish line located on Argonne Drive, just east of Kirkwood Road, in the heart if downtown Kirkwood (see map).

Race Date: Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2009 Entry Fee:
Pre-registered $15; Race Day Registration $20

Starting Location: Both 3-mile and 6-mile starts at Kirkwood Farmer’s Market near Kirkwood Train Station (see map)

Pre-Race Registration Deadline: 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 25 ($15).

Race day registration is 6:45 - 7:30 a.m. ($20)

Packet Pickup: Packets can be picked up during registration hours listed above beginning November 1. Pre-race packet pickup ends at both sites at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25. Please pick up packets at site to which registration was mailed.

Awards: Race results and medals will be available immediately following the race. Race will be chip timed and gun timed. Per USATF guidelines, awards will be based on gun time only. Contenders for first, second or third place medals should plan to be in the front of the race at the start. Individual medals will be given for first through third place male and female in these categories:

12 & Under 13-19 20-29 30-39 40-49 50-59 60-69 70 & Over

In addition, Ghisallo Running has donated hats and gift certificates for the first four finishers overall.

Results will be posted at http://www.bigriverrunning.com/raceresults.php immediately and at this page within a week.

Aside from event day announcement of medal recipients, winners will not otherwise be notified; runners are responsible to check the web site and pick up medals from Webster Groves. Note: Awards are not guaranteed after October 1 of the following year.

Notice to all participants: Be advised that during this event the roadways WILL NOT BE CLOSED to vehicular traffic or pedestrians. Police vehicles on the course serve only to alert uninvolved motorists that extra caution is needed. When available, uniformed personnel will be at major congestion points along the course to assist you. For your safety, we ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Always keep to the extreme, outside edge of the roadway, as far as possible from the portion used for vehicular traffic. If moving with the flow of traffic, try to remain alert for overtaking vehicles and be prepared to take evasive action.

2. When approaching any intersecting roadway or driveway, be prepared to stop if necessary.

3. Do not cross any intersection or change from one side of the road to the other, unless you have personally checked to make sure it is clear.

4. No route support is available after 9:00 a.m., so walkers should plan to participate in the 3-mile course.
