The Kirkwood Recreation Station Ice Arena is open year-round for public skating, skating lessons, and other public activities. To be eligible for the Kirkwood resident prices listed below, you must have a Recreation Station ID Card, issued at the Community Center office. ID cards cost $4, and are valid for three years. To obtain a card come to the Community Center office during regular hours. Bring a current picture ID (MO driver’s license, etc.) showing your Kirkwood address and current utility bill, bank statement or personal property receipt for that same address.

Resident Adult (18+) - $3.00               
Resident Senior (65+) - $2.50

Non Resident Youth (5-17) - $4.00                   
Non Resident Adult (18+) - $4.00
Non Resident Senior (65+) - $3.50

  • Children 4 and under free with paying adult. (excludes skate rental)

  • Skate rental $2.00

  • 10 Admission pass card - purchase 9 admissions, get 1 free

Skate Sharpening available - $4.

Stick ‘n Puck

These sessions offer participants the opportunity to get on the ice with their own hockey stick and puck. HECC approved helmet (with cage if under 18) and hockey gloves required. Admission fees are R$4 and NR$5. Some sessions may be cancelled, check monthly calendar above for times.

Freestyle Sessions

Freestyle sessions offer figure skaters a chance to work on jumps, spins, and more. Admission fees are: R$4 and NR$5 per hour. Some sessions may be cancelled, check monthly calendar above for times.

Party Room

Our party room is the perfect place for birthday and holiday parties, meetings, church group events, and more.  The room sits next to the rink and is available for a fee of $30.  Food and beverage arrangements. available.  For more information call 314-984-6989 or email at Ken Davies.

Group Rates

Discounted rates for public sessions are available for groups of 10 or more. A great idea for church groups, school field trips, holiday parties, scout troops, etc. For more information call 314-984-6989 or email at  Ken Davies. Group arrangements must be made 5 days in advance.

Skating Lessons

Additional classes that may be offered include Beginning Ice Dance, Beginning Spins and Jumps, Stroking for Figure Skating, Fun with Crossovers, and Ballet class for skaters, Ballet class for Tots and Ballet for everyone. For information on times and fees call 314-822-5855 or 314-984-5950.

Kirkwood Youth Hockey Association

The Kirkwood Youth Hockey Association offers league play for ages 4 through 16, learn to play through advanced levels. For more information call the KYHA hotline at 314-835-0400 or visit their website at www.kyha.org.

Gateway Speed Skating Club

Gateway Speed Skating Club offers speed skating opportunities for all ages. The club practices regularly at the Kirkwood Ice Arena between September and March.  For more information call 314-984-8476 or visit their website at www.gatewayspeedskating.org.

Camps

2009 KIRKWOOD SUMMER FIGURE SKATING CAMP

Kirkwood’s Figure Skating Camp offers a daily M-F Summer program for USFSA, ISI and Basic Figure Skating. We offer sessions for freestyle, MIF and dance for high and low levels. Our program includes on ice classes for Power Edges, MIF, Power Stroking, and Dance. Our off ice classes include Pilates/Conditioning, High and Low Ballet, High and Low Jazz and off ice Jump Training/Technique. Summer Camp skaters can enjoy both private lessons and group lessons with a custom schedule for busy skaters. Camp runs June 1-5, June 8-12, June 22-26, June 29- July 3, July 6-10, July 20-24, July 27-31, August 3-7, and August 10-14. For more details, please call Camp Director, Susie Smith at 314-984-5950.

2009 NORTHERN EDGE ELITE HOCKEY SCHOOL

Advanced Skills and Concepts Camp June 15-19 and a Skills Development Camp July 13-17 at the Kirkwood Ice Arena.

The Advanced Skills camp is designed for competitive players looking to take their overall understanding of the game to a higher level. First half of each day spent on advanced skill work and conditioning. Second half of each day spent on conceptual work, helping the player better understand situations arising in the game.Campers will be on ice for four hours daily.

The Skills Development Camp is open to all skill levels and campers will be on the ice three hours daily. Primary focus on fundamental skill development: Skating, passing, stick handling and shooting in a fun environment.
