Crestwood-Kirkwood Youth Theatre

Crestwood-Kirkwood Youth Theatre is sponsored by the Kirkwood and Crestwood Parks and Recreation Departments, and produced by Katy, Recreation Supervisor for the Kirkwood Parks and Recreation Department, and Tricia Roberts, Recreation Supervisor for the Crestwood Parks and Recreation Department.  This community theatre group performs two productions per year (four performances per production)-one in April and one in December.  For each show, a director, musical director and choreographer is hired, as well as a stage manager and light and sound technicians.  The cast for each show is comprised of 60 to 80 youth and teens.  Rehearsals run for two months before the show opens.  Parent involvement includes set building and painting, costume work, and various duties during the show.  Performances are held at the Robert G. Reim Theater in Kirkwood Park.  For ticket information please call the Kirkwood Community Center at 314-822-5855.

Crestwood-Kirkwood Youth Theater is an excellent opportunity for youth interested in the performing arts.  It is a wonderful learning experience in all aspects of community theater, as well as a chance for social interaction.

Tickets go on sale March 8, 2010 and can be purchased at the Kirkwood Community Center.

 All tickets are $5.00 each.

Kirkwood Summer Theatre

 Kirkwood Summer Theatre is sponsored by the Kirkwood Parks and Recreation Departments, and produced by Katy, Recreation Supervisor for the Kirkwood Parks and Recreation Department.  This community theatre group performs one musical in July. (three performances per production)  A director, musical director and choreographer is hired, as well as a stage manager and light and sound technicians.  The cast for each show is comprised of 50 to 70 performers, aged 11 through adult.  Parent involvement includes set building and painting, costume work, and various duties during the show.  Performances are held at the Kirkwood Lion’s Amphitheatre in Kirkwood Park.  For ticket information please call the Kirkwood Community Center at 314-822-5855.

The Kirkwood Lions’ Amphitheater is located in Kirkwood Park. Ticket holders are directed to use the 4 designated parking areas in Kirkwood Park, and to refrain from parking in the Kirkwood Community Center parking lot. In addition, ticket holders may park along Rifle Range Road, adhering to the directions and signage of the Kirkwood Police and Kirkwood Park Rangers.
