Notice of Election

APRIL 3, 2012

An election will be held on April 3, 2012, for the Mayor and three Council seats of the City of Kirkwood, Missouri. You must be a registered voter in the City of Kirkwood to run for office.

Be it further advised that the Declaration of Candidacy forms may be picked up beginning at 8:00 a.m. on April 25, 2011, in the City Clerk’s Office, City of Kirkwood, City Hall, 139 S. Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood, MO 63122. The opening date for filing a Declaration of Candidacy for the office of Mayor or Council Member is July 22, 2011. The closing date for filing the candidacy forms is 5:00 p.m. on January 17, 2012. The proper place for filing is with the City Clerk of the City of Kirkwood, 139 S. Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood, MO 63122.

Petitions nominating candidates shall be signed by not less than 100 registered voters of the City of Kirkwood. Signatures shall be executed in ink. Each signer shall indicate next to the signer’s signature the date of signing and the signer’s place of residence, giving the street and number. Packets containing legal forms and petition blanks may be picked up at the office of the City Clerk, 139 S. Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood, Missouri.

• Opening date for filing a Declaration of Candidacy is 8:00 a.m. on July 22, 2011.
• Candidates are required to file the petitions and declaration of candidacy in person.
• Closing date for filing petitions and declaration of candidacy is 5:00 p.m. on January 17, 2012.
• Candidates’ names will appear on the ballot in the order they are received and certified.
