Memorial Walkway Dedication

Memorial Walkway In May 2010, the City of Kirkwood dedicated a Memorial Walkway in memory of the public servants who lost their lives on February 7, 2008. The Walkway is located along the north perimeter of Kirkwood City Hall, adjacent to the train tracks. A plaque for each individual, along with a lighted pole and nearby bench, were dedicated for Mayor Mike Swoboda, Police Officer Thomas Ballman, Police Sergeant William Biggs, Councilmember Connie Karr, Councilmember Michael H.T. Lynch, and Public Works Director Kenneth Yost.

Urban Forestry Commission:

Promotes a high standard of long-term planning, maintenance, and perpetuation of Kirkwood’s publicly owned trees. Encourages responsible management and maintenance of privately owned trees. Advises City Council on suggested amendments to current City ordinances and practices that affect the planting, maintenance, and removal of trees on public and private property.  A complete membership roster is available.
