Welcome to the New Website: Please Tell Us What You Think

For the next several months, this will be a beta, or testing, Website, which means that it is fully functional, you can find the information you need, and you will be able to complete all your online business here. However, it also means that everything might not be perfect.  It may be slow to load at first, for example.  Also, we are testing some ideas, and we may make changes. Some pages may not be fully filled in yet. It also means that we would like you to use the site and tell us what you think. Did something not work? Did you have trouble finding or accessing information? Is something missing that you used before? Also, what did you like?  Please send your comments and feedback by email to: vonbehen@kirkwoodmo.org.  OR click on the link at the bottom of this page to "Contact Webmaster."  Thank you!

Pool Safety This Summer

Statistics show that drowning is the second leading cause of injury-related deaths among children ages one to 14, and most of these involve residential pools. The Kirkwood Fire Department would like to remind everyone of the safety issues related to pools. LIGHTNING STRIKES are also a summer safety issue. It may seem like a hassle when the lifeguard at Kirkwood Pool tells you to get out of the water because thunder has been heard, but the scary truth is that water is a deadly place to be when lightning strikes occur. July is the deadliest month for lightning strikes. Click here for information on staying safe during a lightning storm [Source: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration].
